Dylan was supposed to sleep in the pack and play in Lockport. Optimistically, my parents set it up for us in our hotel room, since we weren't going to roll into town until well after midnight. Anyone that knows my kids knows that they like to throw all sorts of curveballs when it comes to sleeping.
This is the only time he was in it for more than five minutes. Please note he is NOT sleeping. He is playing (and drooling) while I am showering. That night he slept it in for almost five minutes before he was back in the Ergo so I could eat some pizza.
This is where he actually slept.
Well, on closer inspection, I don't think this is our room, but you get the idea. It is a bed, NOT his pack and play.
This is our room, and this is where he actually slept. We are not co-sleepers, but what's that saying about necessity breeding invention or something like that? Or that other one about you gotta do what you gotta do? Well, I gotta get some zzzzz's, so we became vacation co-sleepers.
These pictures were taken after a glorious late afternoon nap. Abbey threw a giant fit before falling asleep exhausted with Ryan rubbing her little back. I moved her to the bed, next to Dylan, where I slept with them, basically curled up at their feet like a mama cat. Ryan quietly shut the door, the three of us crashed hard, and everyone had a much better evening because of that nap.
We didn't even bother taking the pack and play to Kalamazoo.
For the record, I take sleep safety very seriously. Dylan slept well clear of the pillows and Abbey's lovey & blanket.
we were vacation co-sleepers this weekend, too. so much easier to deal with falling asleep quickly than to fight going to sleep in a pack and play, plus less stuff to take in the car. it's vacation! have fun with it!
