A long time ago, when we found out Abbey was going to be a girl, I had a period of pink rebellion. We decorated her room in purple, and I tried to buy her clothes and blankets in colors other than pink. Then it kind of sunk in that I like pink. I'm girly, despite the sad shape of my current wardrobe, and I am still not sure why I had such a knee-jerk reaction to shy away from pink.
Either way, there's no denying it.
Abbey likes pink. A lot.
While I know that there's no predicting the kind of girl (and woman) she will eventually become, for now she is a fun combination of girly-girly-girl and let's-play-in-the-sand-girl. She likes throwing her (pink) balls around, but every morning when I ask her what she wants to wear, she says, "A dress." Usually she says, "A pretty dress." Sometimes she wants, "A dress with flowers."
Thankfully, we have numerous dresses in the closet. Her favorite is probably the dress she wore at Easter, and I am so, so glad we got a fairly simple one. Tulle is a lot cooler than taffeta in the sweltering sun.
No, she's not a bridesmaid quite yet. The flowers are a decoration I bought for her first birthday party. She found them in a closet one day and has been accessorizing with them ever since. They are a fun dancing prop!
What a great Mama you are : ) I think too many people would say 'let's save that for special occasions.' but silly them...don't they know that every single day is a special occasion? Every single day
ReplyDelete:) I am visiting from Enjoying the Small Things today and the comment you left there. So nice to meet you : )
