The Zoo

Abbey & I went to the zoo today. The weather looked like it was going to disappoint us, but it ended up being a really gorgeous day. For a while, she was using the lion as her inspiration, and I ended up seeing the chimps, tigers, lions, and rhinos on my own. After a little nap, however, she woke up and had a great time!

I think her favorite thing to look at was the large bear fountain. She looked at that for a long time and seemed really fascinated by all of the water (and the kids running around & throwing pennies into it.)

Feet are Neat

Abbey found her feet, and they are her new favorite toy!

Hanging out with Daddy

Abbey always loves hanging out with Daddy. When he get home, she gets very smiley and watches him wherever he goes.

Hanging Out with Friends

Abbey visited with her friends Elliot, Lainey, & Molly this week. Lainey was taking a nap when Abbey decided to make a move on Elliot and hold his hand! However, Lainey impressed everyone when she woke up by eating both cereal AND bananas. All of the kids had a fun time, and the moms enjoyed some great conversation (and food - thanks to Joann.)

4 Month Appointment

Abbey has discovered a new favorite sleeping position. I thought I would take a picture in case the pediatrician says not to let her sleep on her tummy for a while.

She doesn't seem amused by the pre-doctor's appointment photos.

Well, maybe she was a little amused.

Her appointment went really well. She is 13 lbs, 9.5 oz. and 24.75 inches long, holding steady in the 50th percentile for weight and on the verge of the 75th percentile for height. She was very sweet, even laughing when the nurse showed her the Bugs Bunny bandaids. Unfortunately, she didn't realize those bandaids meant she was getting poked. Tears and a serious pout soon followed. In better news, we got the green light to try sunscreen, which means we'll get to wear her bathing suit and sun hat on the beach this summer!

Mom's First Day at Home

So, I leave school for summer vacation, and my mom and I decide to take Abbey for a walk. She didn't seem to mind, but seriously - someone forgot to let Mother Nature know that it's supposed to be SUMMER vacation...

Thankfully, it was a little warmer inside when Grandma Sue came over to visit. Abbey was lucky enough to hang out with Mommy, Grandma Sharon, & Grandma Sue all in one day!

Abbey's First Father's Day

Abbey spent her first Father's Day at the ballpark, watching Daddy play baseball. She got to see Grandpa Ray & Grandma Sue while she was there. Abbey is thankful to have such great guys in her life, so she is sending out hugs to Uncle Donnie (her Godfather), Grandpa Ray, Grandpa Don, and her favorite guy of all - Daddy!

Joining the Revolution...

Since we enjoy looking at everyone else's blogs so much, we thought people might get a kick out of seeing Abbey every once in a while.

It's hard to believe that she is four months old already! Her personality develops a little more every day, and it is so fun to watch. She has recently started rolling over. When Mommy and Daddy would do tummy time with her, she protested very vocally. However, now that she can roll herself onto her tummy, she loves looking around, checking out the pictures on her playmat, and just hanging out. Unfortunately, she hasn't yet mastered rolling back the other way, so sometimes she gets stuck.

Abbey also loves being outside lately, so Mommy is very glad that we invested in a zoo membership this year! Soon (2 more days!) Mommy is done with school for the summer, and the real fun will begin.
