Dylan's first bad hair day!
Those of you that remember Abbey as a baby know that she had quite the spike from the time she was born. We learned to love and embrace the spike early on, but many days could have qualified as bad hair days. Dylan, though, not so much. Most days it doesn't look like he has hair at all, and I never really have to worry about brushing it or anything as high-maintenance as that.
Yet, he woke up from a long night's sleep his sixth hour-long nap of the night with his hair in quite the state. I had to take a picture. Then I realized you can barely even see the bad hair day. However, in case your computer resolution isn't so great, take my word for it - there are about five little peach fuzzy hairs sticking straight up. And I couldn't get them flat. So, we have his first official bad hair day.
To see how things got better for Dylan (and harder more interesting for Mommy) stick around.
After running some errands, we spent part of the afternoon at Grandma & Grandpa's house. When we got there, GMa Sharon was on a walk, so we made ourselves at home. Abbey was thirsty, so I plopped Dylan in the middle of the family room floor with some of his favorite toys.
Abbey and I came back to this:
why hello there
what does the little cowboy think he's doing?
what is Dylan-Do doing?
Mommy?
he did that completely on his own
he climbed up a step
I don't know if I'm ready for this
yikes
That morning, he shocked me with his sudden crawling speed. Abbey was coloring, and he wanted those crayons badly. I had barely fastened his diaper when he shot across the floor, pajamas trailing unsnapped behind him. He was practically born yesterday, and now I feel like I am labeling every post "growing up". Just like Abbey, he is truly a joy to watch. His spirit is so positive and infectious, and I can't wait to see what kind of little boy he will become.
What cuties you have around that house! Your description of how the baby sleeps through the night is ah, so true! Thanks for stopping by my site!
ReplyDeleteAaw man he's so cute! How old is he?
ReplyDeleteErika, He's seven months. He is practically toddler-size though! Abbey was that size when she was about fifteen months!
