Vocabulary Confusion

Still no camera, but we're making progress.  I am borrowing one from my parents for now, but the USB cord is at their house, so I won't be able to upload until later this week.  We're trying to figure out what to buy to replace our old camera.  I definitely don't need anything fancy!  I might not know where my all my talents lie, but all of the gadgets in the world won't make me more than a point and shoot picture taker :)  I am not patient enough for anything other than that.

Learning a language is difficult for most people.  Years of both Spanish and French classes left me with nothing more than a passing knowledge of basic greetings, random vocabulary words, and vague notions of verb conjugations.  Sometimes, though, it's easy to forget that Abbey is learning a language, too, and there are a myriad of opportunities for English to be incredibly confusing for a toddler.

This morning, Abbey was sitting on her little chair, typing on one of her oversized, rubber blocks.  She told me she was sending an e-mail.  The conversation went (basically) like this:

Me: What are you doing, Abs?
Abbey: Sending an e-mail to Aunt Jessica.  (Jessica, you are her favorite e-mail recipient for some reason!)
Me: Is that a mini-computer that you're typing on?
Abbey: No, no Mommy.  A Mickey computer.

I tried to explain that mini can mean little, which simply resulted in Abbey showing me her Minnie Mouse underwear.  I don't think I made my point.
