Abbey and I are constantly singing. (This is probably another giant sign that I should have jumped on the Glee bandwagon at the pilot episode!) There is a Laurie Berkner song she loves about going on a treasure hunt. We make up our own words on our walks, and they've turned into mini-treasure hunts. Of course, Abbey being Abbey, we're usually looking for dogs and kitties, but she gets a kick out of it and takes the hunt quite seriously.
Abbey's looking at a giant dog across the street and talking to Dylan about what it's doing. For the record, it was playing basketball. If I were to describe it, I would have said that there was a teenager playing basketball and a dog sitting in the yard, but in Abbey's world the dog was playing!
"So, Mommy, what are we looking for now?" The verdict was pinecones and kittens.
Pinecones! This is not our tree; hopefully the owners understand the thrill of finding a toddler treasure.
She was so excited about the pinecones that she almost forgot her beloved sunglasses.
This was about a minute before she climbed into the stroller to ride the rest of the way home. And that is why it takes us so long to get around the block!
